While the Clauss 8" Bent Kevlar Shear is specially designed to cut Kevlar materials, it is also excellent for cutting plastic, canvas, upholstery and more. The micro-serrated blades provide unparalleled grip-and-cut performance, constructed of high carbon alloy steel, molybdenum and vanadium for true industrial strength. Clauss also makes shears with high grade molybdenum alloy steel for those who need tools for extra heavy cutting. When hardened, molybdenum steel forms a very durable, tough, and uniform grain structure. This gives our "Moly" shears' blades excellent holding characteristics, which enhances their longevity in the face of continuous heavy-duty cutting. Chrome Vanadium is used to make many different types of tools as well. When heat treated it has excellent properties such as strength, toughness, and resistance to wear and fatigue. The blades also undergo our patented Titanium Bonding process to further enhance corrosion resistance, adhesive resistance, and to make the blades 3x harder than untreated stainless steel, thereby increasing the edge retention properties greatly as well. All in all, the 8" Bent Kevlar Shear is a true cutting powerhouse for any task.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable shear performance I bought this shear to cut Kevlar and PBO textiles and it performs better than more expensive shears my colleagues are using that cost 10x more. They stay sharp and are handy to have in my desk drawer when cutting samples.

Most of our scissors are 20°, so we recommend using a 20° sharpener to resharpen your shears.
