The screw in the middle of the scissors might be loose. You might also have used it to cut very thick items that the scissors are made to withstand.

why would you design a knife that will not keep a blade out. ( It is very easy to put a blade back in) and also design an integrated rope cutter that you can not cut a rope with. Possibly a string cuts easily but that is just is easy to do with the blade

Can I use WD-40...on these spring-assisted scissors? They work fine for about 10 snips and then 'catch'. I am thinking they 'bind' at the screw area? Spring seems fine and blades are very sharp. Just bought these last week for ragging a quilt. Thanks.
